Protect your feline friend from life-threatening illnesses with a vaccination plan.
Vaccines help protect your pet from pests and harmful diseases that can put their health at risk. If left untreated, they could cause serious damage or be fatal. To book an appointment to learn more about your pet’s vaccination needs, please don’t hesitate to call us at 250-828-2939.
Typically, kittens should get their first round of vaccines when they are about 6 to 8-weeks-old. Until they are 4-months-old, they will continue to receive a series of vaccines. It’s important to note that your feline friend should not play outside before their first vaccines have been administered. For adult cats, we recommend bringing them in for their booster vaccines once every 1 to 3 years, depending on their lifestyle, environment, and health needs. Our veterinarians will work with you to create a preventative vaccination plan tailored to your pet’s needs.
On top of their health benefits, vaccines are also very safe. Most vaccines are administered by a single injection under the skin, which is relatively painless. They can also be given as drops into the nose. After being vaccinated, some pets may experience mild side effects or reactions such as a fever or vomiting, but this is usually among a small number of patients. If your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms, they should clear up in a few days. If you notice them getting worse, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or to bring them in to see one of our veterinarians.
